Do you consider different shapes?
This one goes out to the brands and designers. Along with less plus sizing across the board, there is a great lack of different body shapes represented.
So many companies still use binary language like “Women’s clothing” and use models that are all pear shaped.
I am a cis woman that has never been a pear shape and I know I’m not the only one. There are other cis and trans women who aren’t pear shapes as well, along with non binary folks, cis & trans men. What about fellow inverted triangles, apples, or rectangle shaped people? We know the garment wasn’t made with us in mind, so often we aren’t able to purchase because of differing measurements.
A company shouldn’t claim to be for “all bodies” when it was designed with one body type in mind (while only being shot on similar ones.)
Why have so many brands only focused on dressing and selling to one body shape? If you are a different shape like me, have you found brands with more varied proportions?
