What took so long?

In this slow fashion space, there are a few voices that consistently provide resources to help. However, there are many popular/white accounts that routinely say nothing. I saw some of those accounts FINALLY make a comment on what’s been happening to my people for centuries, but only AFTER they were prompted to do so by another white person.

Why does it take tragedy for non Black people to actually care about us? Why aren’t the amazing contributions we’ve always made to this nation recognized with such vigor?

Will you put the same amount of energy into celebrating Black life as you do in sharing Black death?
