Why do you post?

Social media is performative, even when it isn’t intended to be. What we choose to post or choose not to post is not indicative of our actions in the non digital space. 

BUT when people with power i.e. white people with large followings bring awareness of issues, provide resources, uplift Black individuals, AND have the necessary conversations/take concrete steps offline, I am appreciative.

It should be the norm, but it isn’t. It’s unfortunate that often, this public change is the result of another white person prompting them. Black & Brown voices are often ignored, even when we are suffering.
